“Roca” is short for “Pororoca,” a biannual wave that sweeps the Amazon River. Surfers come from across the world to surf the Pororoca; it’s a wave that brings people together. That’s Roca’s mission with the news.

In August 2020, our 3 co-founders Max, Max, and Billy, decided they couldn't bear consuming divisive, biased, and fear-mongering news any longer. They quit their jobs to build RocaNews: a media company that delivers interesting and factual news to help you live a happy and informed life. No fear-mongering, no spin.
